Not the normal set of pictures

Last weekend started off great. We played in the yard, went to a playground and the train station, and went into town to play a game of mini-golf... and then I broke my collarbone....

So, I am now one week into the six week bone healing process. Beth and Dave took Nicholas for 3 days last week. It was very sad to not have him here, but very nice to know that he had such a fun time.

Since returnng from Beth and Dave's we are trying a new bedtime strategy... a special "BIG" marshmallow if he goes to sleep without too much craziness. He got his reward for the first two nights... from the sounds of it, there might not be a marshmallow tomorrow morning... : (

Donovan is growing right up. Two new tricks from today. He has started to babble with some new consonants (m, b, g). He can also now lift himself off the ground with his feet and hands. He can also get almost anywhere that he wants to go by rolling and scooting. I think that crawling is not far off. Donovan and Nicholas are also beginning to play together. Donovan really loves Nicholas and (almost) everything that Nicholas does makes Donovan happy.

Oh, finally, my dreaded pest is here in force. We have a ridiculous number of woodticks this year. I find about 5 or more every day on Nicholas' playset. They are easy to spot on the slide. This afternoon Doug and his PhD advisor chipped up all of the old branches and dead wood that was behind the playset. It looks wonderful. Hopefully it will also help to cut down on the number of ticks that we have.
