We've been so focused on getting our airplane to fly that I haven't put up many pictures of the kids from the last two months. So, here are a few photos and a quick update...
Nicholas lost his first tooth on May 9th, and we can just start to see the ridges of the new tooth. He
got a new bike (just like Neel's), which he loves to ride. He continues to love Legos, and is looking for ways to earn money for a new one. He has recently started to really enjoy jigsaw puzzles (we're working on a 1,000 piece puzzle that has way too much blue sky), and he can whiz right through 100 piece puzzles. He is starting to learn to read and spell.
Donovan got Nicholas' old bike (with training wheels re-attached). He can ride it fairly well, but isn't quite as interested in riding a bike as Nicholas. Donovan is excited that we recently bunked his and Nicholas' beds. Donovan is on the bottom, and he and Nicholas have been playing a lot of monster games in their bed. Donovan has been taking a speech class since late March, and is doing a great job. He has been working on the "f", "w", and "k" sound and can consistently make the "f" and "w" sounds unprompted - and is really working on the "k" sound when reminded.
Lily continues to love wearing bead necklaces. She loves to read books. Nicholas will often ask her to sit in his lap and read small picture books to her. And, she loves to play with the boys, particularly the silly games that Donovan plays with her.
We had a very nice Memorial Day weekend, with perfect weather. The kids and I spent Saturday at Storr's Pond, where we happened to meet up with their twin friends (Rosy and Luca). Nicholas and Rosy are really good friends and had a great time playing together.
On Sunday, we met Beth, Dave, Nathan, Benji, and Max in Concord for a picnic lunch and a hike through the NH Society for the Protection of Forests. The mosquitoes were much too thick in the woods so we found a great spot along the river where the kids spent hours playing in the water.
Today, we went to a small river near us (the Ompompanoosuc) and canoed up to a small sandbar. The kids had a great time playing in the water -- which is still really cold!
Earlier this month, Peter and Kathleen came up to visit. While Peter was lecturing at the Engineering School, Kathleen and I had a really nice chance to visit and play with the kids.

And, last but not least, Doug's new airplane continues to stay in one piece. We flew it last weekend and Doug had several safe landings. Phew...
