We spent another of our 100+ degree days in Southern Minnesota (on the border of Iowa) visiting a limestone cave - Niagara Cave. This was our one and only opportunity for the kids to put on their fleece jackets. Supposedly the cave is about 48 degrees year round. It was found about 100 years ago when a pig farmer lost one of his pigs and heard it yelping from underground. The cave has a waterfall, some small stalactites, flowstone, and a couple of fossils - but mostly it had tall narrow walls of limestone.
