We left Minnesota in the middle of August, and started heading East toward Maryland. As usual, the kids did a fantastic job traveling long days in the car. We had a very nice visit with GG (pictures coming in next post) in Western Maryland, and then spent about 5 days with Doug's parents (including a day with Peter and Kathleen).
Doug, Nicholas, and Donovan trying to launch a Hydrogen rocket.
Peter and Doug were put to work moving the Gravely. It's a big, dangerous looking piece of metal that used to be Wayne's parents and can do practically everything (mow, auger, till, bush hog, plow, push, etc.).
Doug, Wayne, and Peter celebrating a victory after getting the Gravely to start.
And Wayne celebrating a victory in maneuvering the Gravely around the yard.
Nicholas taking Lily for a ride around the yard.
Nicholas, Donovan, and Aunt Kathleen playing in a friend's pool.

More (mini-)explosions. Donovan, Nicholas, Lily, and Bapa watching baking soda and vinegar AND food color turn into a volcano.
Donovan and Nicholas experimenting.
Tubing: Lily, Aricca, Nicholas, and Donovan. We all went for a short ride in the tube, and then sent Donovan and Lily back to the boat so Nicholas and I could go on a longer ride.
Lily - ready to go out on the boat.
Wayne and Lisa
Wayne - thrilled to be on a sailboat - and able to operate it right-handed.

Happy Doug!!
Nicholas continues to be a "Lego-maniac". He's now even faster at following instructions, and has made some really cool vehicles and structures "from scratch."
