November wrap-up

Here are a few pictures of the highlights of November.

Nicholas turned 10 on November 12th, and we celebrated with a trip to the Competition Complex with a small number of friends. And, then homeward for cake with just our family. At 10 years old, Nicholas is really turning into a very clever boy. His favorite activity seems to be reading, and his favorite author is Rick Riordan. Riordan has written several series of books that bring together the adventures of kids that are about 11 years old, coupled with Greek and Egyptian mythology. Nicholas has read most of the books several times, but isn't quite ready to move on to another author or series.

Nicholas is clearly the big brother in the household, and has a clear sense of right and wrong -- especially when it comes to the behaviors of Donovan and Lily. He's quite a kid, and we're really proud of him.

We spent Thanksgiving week in Wisconsin and also celebrated Lily's 6th birthday with the Dums family, and then again in New Hampshire on her actual birthday.

At 6, Lily is just starting to read. She's sounding out small words, and does a lot of writing at school. She says that her favorite subject is math, but the subject that we hear the most about is Spanish. She has Spanish twice a week, and on those days she comes home with Spanish songs stuck in her head. Her teacher says she's a great child to have in class, makes friends easily, and sets a good example for others to follow!  At home, she is as goofy as can be - and she and Donovan have the giggles most of the time when they are together. (When they don't have the giggles, they are doing their best to annoy each other!)

Whose baby is coming out first??

Sarah is due in one week - and we are sending her our best wishes for a safe and easy delivery!
