Lily continues to be a sweet, sweet baby. She rarely cries... and usually it is only if she is hungry or over-tired or both. She loves to smile, and loves the bear mobile above her changing table more than most other things. She'll follow them around and around in circles with her huge grin. She is also really starting to enjoy playing with toys that dangle above her. The boys continue to be really gentle with Lily.
Donovan's vocabulary is also really starting to explode. We still struggle to figure out some of his words, but in those cases Nicholas can usually tell us what he has said. Donovan's latest favorites: "I know", "I do it", "I show you" (do you sense that he is becoming more independent?)!
This weekend was the Dartmouth Winter Carnival. We watched the Men's 20km race yesterday morning and then went to the Pond Party. It appears that the Pond Party is put on by the town of Hanover - and is really geared to all ages. For the kids, they had an ice slide, a "pigloo" (like an igloo, but shaped into a pig), marshmallows, fishing (for plastic fish using magnets), bowling, etc. Both boys loved the fishing - especially Donovan.
Our excitement for today was centered around going to the pool... We didn't bring the camera as we expected to have our hands full with the boys. The boys enjoyed splashing in the shallow area, and also loved putting on life jackets and swimming in the deeper area (the lazy river). To round out the day, the boys helped Doug make sourdough pancakes this morning and we brought out the exer-saucer for Lily. She is still a bit small for it, but the boys were fascinated!
The last two pictures are from one of our recent big snow storms. The snow was so deep in the yard that they only way for any of us to get around was to make a trail with our snowshoes. Both boys LOVED using the snowshoes!
