We spent the holidays in Wisconsin with the Dums family. Despite extremely close connections on our flights to and from Wisconsin (due to snow storms and mechanical issues), we made all of our flights. Nicholas was an impressive traveler and ran so far and so fast in the "C terminal" of the Detroit airport that I gave him a break by pushing him through the "B terminal" in an available wheelchair (as soon as we got to our gate, we walked straight onto the airplane... yikes). Donovan is following in his brother's footprints and is also a great traveler.
Our trip to Wisconsin was filled with fun. We spent as much time as we could with my grandparents, Doug went skiing everyday (I got out three times), Nicholas fell in love with my parents' puppy (who got a bit jealous and chewed on everything in sight), and the weather was beautiful... Oh, and Nicholas was thrilled by Christmas!!

Our budding pianist is quite good at playing the "forte" notes, and practiced the quieter ones too.

Nicholas' truly enjoyed his first ski. Since we've been back in NH, he's been "skiing" across our yard and likes it. We're toying with the idea of having him ski the Barnebirkie this February in Hayward.
Before we arrived in Wisconsin, my grandparents had made several dozen Christmas cookies for Nicholas to decorate. He has particularly treasured the "Nicholas" and "Donovan" cookies that they made for him. These cookies traveled back to New Hampshire with us.
Nicholas loved playing with my parents' 6-month old puppy, Molly. He really wanted Doug to put him down so he could "run around in circles like Molly".
My parents and brother Donovan took Nicholas to the candy shop. Apparently, Nicholas loved it and chose his favorite candies! We now have a small bag of "Atomic Fireballs", bubblegum, and other assorted candies. : )

After opening Christmas presents, Nicholas and Donovan took their first bath together. Nicholas was very excited to have Donovan in the bath - he was especially happy to be able to use Donovan's new bath toys!
