April Fool's Joke

Donovan and Nicholas are helping me write this posting. Donovan picked the title: "April Fool's Joke". The boys have had lots of April Fool's Jokes for us - it doesn't matter that it is now May. I still get "funny April Fool's Jokes". : )

We have done lots of fun things this month. We started with a trip to New York City, aptly described by Nicholas as "sky scraper city". We all went to the top of the Empire State Building and enjoyed the view. On the next day, while Doug was presenting at an "engineering open house" for high school students, I took the kids to a very fun playground.

The boys - ready to hit the pool.

Nicholas: "At the top of the spider web"

Donovan: "Riding on this."

We had a really nice weekend visit from Nana, complete with "opening day" mini-golf.

April still had plenty of snow for the first half of the month. I think it is all gone now! : ) We did only a tiny bit of helping the Currier's collect maple sap (short season). We'll be washing buckets soon...

Nicholas and his friend Jackson dragging/pushing Lily through the snow.

Sap - straight from the trailer.

We had a great trip to Peter and Kathleen's home in Pennsylvania over Easter weekend. The boys, particularly Nicholas, have been waiting for Easter since Santa came. It was more exciting than they could have imagined. The Easter bunny hid eggs inside the house and outside. And, we had at least 3 or 4 more egg hunts (hid by us, Nicholas, and Donovan) after the initial egg hunts. We even dyed more eggs in NH after returning...

Lily is still as sweet as can be. She is starting to sit on her own. Has not yet been motivated to roll over, though I think she could probably do it if she tried. And, most of all, she loves her brothers and loves to smile!!!

Finally, Donovan is starting to work on "toilet training". He has had some really good days (yesterday, dry all day and night)...
