Lily has reached a "milestone" and started eating solid foods (actually really really mushy foods) last weekend - May 6th. She started with rice cereal, and has added squash to the list. At 5 1/2 months old, she loves to eat and has a much easier time getting it down her throat then either Nicholas or Donovan did (I think they both started eating at around 5 months).
She also had a first bottle... she gulped it down. (I have a conference in a week, so needed to make sure that she wasn't going to starve during the days while she was with Doug and the boys.)
Lily still hasn't decided to roll over. She seems to have plenty of strength (can lift most of her torso off the ground), but doesn't seem motivated to roll. I expect that she will accidentally do it one of these days, but who knows...
We had a very nice Mother's Day weekend with a trip up to Balch Hill, Mother's day mini-golf and ice cream, some time at the playground, and lots of playing and working in the yard.
As an added benefit of the week, Peter spent Tuesday night and Wednesday with us. He was lecturing for the class of one of Doug's colleagues. We all loved having him here - especially the boys!
