Van Citters: June and July in New Hampshire

A few highlights from summertime in New Hampshire...

Donovan continues to love dinosaurs... (and we have frequent reminders that Halloween is not far away - notice the pumpkin blow-up in the back left).

Donovan, Lily, and Nicholas at the top of the Gile Mountain Fire Tower. The kids did a great job hiking up the 1 mile trail, but holding Lily's hand while she climbed the steps of the fire tower made me so nervous (I had to stop every few steps to wipe the sweat from my hands).

In June, many of our Dartmouth friends returned for our 15th reunion (actually 14 years). Lily had a wonderful time having other little girls to play with.

Likely the highlight of Doug's summer so far... his Uncle Bill (left) gave us all tickets to watch a NASCAR race at the New Hampshire International Motor Speedway! The race was 300 miles long! All of the kids had ear plugs and headphones - and did a great job sitting still for a long time!

The boys have been taking swim lessons for the past month. Nicholas just finished the beginner Level 2 swim lessons. He can now swim across the full length of the pool and is learning very good swim techniques. Donovan can now swim about 8 feet by himself and loves to dive under the water to retrieve diving toys. The boys particularly like using the diving board.

We recently took a trip to New Hampshire's White Mountains. It has been years since we have been there, and we've always thought of taking the tram to the top of Cannon Mountain. We finally did it - and the kids really enjoyed the ride and views.
