After leaving Fort Collins, we drove ~440 miles North and a bit West to Cody, Wyoming. The area is pretty desolate. The limited vegetation makes it easy to see the changing geologic formations.

We found our first bison in Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis.
The park has several hot springs that ultimately empty into the Big Horn River. Doug, Nicholas, Donovan, and Lily sitting at the edge of the biggest of the hot springs.

The park has three hot spring areas where people can swim. Doug took Nicholas and Donovan into one area, while I took Lily to a little playground. Doug was a little scared to put his head under the water, but the boys had a great time. In exchange for not swimming, Lily got to choose her favorite lollipop. By the time she had finished 1/4 of it, she was covered in green and purple sticky lollipop slime. But -- she loved every lick (until she dropped it on the ground and I had a good excuse to discard the rest of it).
